The Painting of Liquid Effects 2 - REWIND
This week I thought I would revisit my oldest video on Youtube from 2015. This was the first video on my channel. I have updated the visuals and the music for this version.
This is a 12x36 commissioned painting on raw canvas for one of my collectors. It was similar in color and the same size as one she had previously purchased. She wanted a “buddy” for the first painting, so I thought I would film me painting it for her. Little did I know at the time that I would be posting a weekly video for the next 5 years.
Obviously it’s a warm dominant painting with accents of cool blues and greens. Here are the colors I used (to the best of my memory): Golden Heavy Body Acrylics:
Hansa Yellow Light
Diarylide Yellow
Quinacridone Magenta
Pyrrole Orange
Light Violet
Yellow Green
Manganese Blue with Titanium White added
It is a very simple color palette. The intent was to use colors right from the jar with little to know mixing on the palette. The only color I mixed was Titanium White into Manganese Blue to lighten the value. I “flicked” lots of paint onto the surface to add some movement to the diagonal composition.
